You say he is being defensive, yet you are the one here misreading his answer and putting up a rather strong worded (at least it seems that way when reading) post. I think you are the one who seems more emotionally involved in this argument. You can call me wrong all you like, but I'm not and getting defensive about it does you no good. HC1 and 2 both have longer, more involved opening sequences proportionate to the amount of content in them. Focusing on the amount of updates and the passage of time doesn't really paint an accurate picture of what's happening. I'm not talking about how many hours you put into getting to the point in which they start getting scenes, I'm talking about the narrative elements that get them where they need to go.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you're doing a bad job. I just feel like the story hasn't pushed a few of the characters to the level they're at. Just feels like you're nailing things to the wall very fast and not everything is sticking. Which, again, is fine, you're three games into making things work out just fine.
IMO the progression is going okay. I give you that maybe some of the quests might have needed a touch more pressure to get the characters to where they are supposed to be, but I think the built-up is better than HC1 and HC2 so far, all things considered.
Obviously you are entitled to your opinion. Maybe n_taii can put on a bit more pressure in the next parts of the charcters' storylines to make up for it. But what's done is done. And I think it came out rather well so far.
